Simone Dayer
Simone has over 20 years’ experience as a trainer for LivingWorks and was one of our first safeTALK trainers and trainer instructors in Australia. As Training and Quality Consultant for LivingWorks, Simone uses her extensive expertise to deliver hosted workshops, facilitate T4Ts and inform the continuous improvement of our training programs. When first joining LivingWorks as an ASIST trainer in 1998, Simone spent 10 years in the Northern Territory growing their network of safety through upskilling community members in suicide intervention skills, as well as building an ASIST and safeTALK trainer network. Simone holds a Bachelor of Social Science and has worked in community sector in both direct clinical and community development roles. Simone wears many hats and is currently a full-time manager of a counselling service that supports people with alcohol, drug and mental health concerns. Simone is passionate about educating and supporting service providers, counsellors and organisations in integrating LivingWorks training programs into their day-to-day service provision. She believes that while any one can get to the point that suicide seems like the only solution, with the right support, people can and do go on to live fulfilling lives. Outside of work, Simone is kept very busy studying her Masters in Social Work and spending time with her daughters. In moments to herself, she enjoys pottering in her veggie garden and reading. |
