Lorna Hirsch
WA/SA/NT Regional Training Manager
Lorna Hirsch has a background in Psychology and over 22 years’ experience in suicide prevention. As State Training Manager for WA, SA and NT she supports trainers and their development to provide both a safe learning environment and an experience of training excellence for all who participate in LivingWorks workshops. In addition, Lorna sits on several suicide prevention committees to inform the ongoing development of our training including: Suicide Prevention Australia WA/SA Joint Committee and PaRK Community Response Steering Group. Lorna brings valuable knowledge in suicide prevention to LivingWorks through her previous work experience in crisis lines, managing specific suicide prevention projects and heading up a not-for-profit organisation, all of which utilised LivingWorks training to upskill staff. Lorna has been caring for people who have thoughts of suicide for most her life and reflects that as a teenager she would have given anything to know then what she knows now. This is a driving force for Lorna who passionately believes that learning the skills to respond to suicide is transforming for both caregivers and people with thoughts of suicide. Outside of work she spends time reading, playing with her 5 grandchildren and her dog Nanook. |
