Lindy Macgregor
Lindy has dedicated 30 years to suicide prevention and is one of the most experienced suicide prevention skills trainers in the world. She is currently LivingWorks’ Asia Pacific Regional Manager, specialising in training and business development. Lindy’s career started as a teacher, working primarily in developing countries. After emigrating to Australia, she transitioned to the corporate world, working as a HR professional, before moving to the community services sector. Here, Lindy worked in counselling roles (individual, relationship and addictions) and for 12 years, as the CEO of a large Lifeline Centre in Sydney. For the past 24 years Lindy has been a trainer and senior leader for LivingWorks. She has worked extensively in Australia and overseas, for a broad range of public and private sector organisations: including the ADF, US Military, the Singapore and Scottish Governments and with many NGOs around the Asia-Pacific area. Lindy has delivered more than 400 ASIST workshops and 120 SafeTALK workshops and she has run nearly 100 ASIST and over 60 safeTALK Train the Trainer courses resulting in more than 1000 local trainers now active in communities across Australia, Singapore, Korea, Hong Kong and China. In 2020, Lindy was awarded the Communities Matter - Individual Award in the 17th annual Suicide Prevention Australia LiFE Awards. Lindy has a particular passion for working with the education sector – schools, colleges and universities – to support and empower staff to learn the skills to prevent youth suicide. Outside of work, Lindy enjoys spending time with her large and active family. She loves to walk with her energetic border collie and is a keen skier and swimmer. |
